Lone Hikers Beware

Police seek 'weathered' man seen with missing hiker

Now, I'm certainly not going to stop hiking by myself, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't genuinely freaked out a smidge. Jenna and Heather, you may find the article a bit interesting.

If I had to guess, I'd say she was probably abducted. If you were lost, you'd have your water bottle and leash with you. Creepy nonetheless.

yeah, i bet she was abducted. or maybe her dog started after some animal and she dropped her stuff and ran after it and got lost. who knows. i was in the sugarlands visitor center one day looking at a book on "strange happenings in the smokies." its all about people who just dissappeared without a trace on hiking trails. freaked the CRAP out of me. there was one story of a woman who decided to turn back from her group and go back to the trail head, and people saw her for awhile and then people coming up the trail later didn't see her, so she must have disappeared off the trail. CREEPY.

i didn't think about that. her dog could have gone after something. that would actually make sense. whatever you read, that's maybe one book i probably shouldn't check out.

this is why my mom wanted to buy me a radio collar.

like one of those chips in your ear? you could probably disguise that, make it look snazzy, like an earring.
